01 - Pat halal beef franks dry and insert a wooden skewer into each half to create 24 mini franks on sticks.
02 - In a mixing bowl, whisk together cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and black pepper.
03 - In a separate bowl, whisk together milk, eggs, and vegetable oil.
04 - Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Batter should be thick; add 1 to 2 tablespoons of milk if too thick.
05 - Heat vegetable oil in a deep pot or fryer to 350°F.
06 - Pour batter into a tall glass. Dip each frank into the batter, coating evenly on all sides.
07 - Carefully lower coated franks into hot oil a few at a time and fry for 2 to 3 minutes or until golden brown, turning as needed.
